Society for Quality Education

As a parent with children in our public school system, I have many a concern for the quality of education provided for by the province.  The education system pushes students through the process without regard for the student’s actual academic achievements.  The “no student is left behind” policies that we have been witnessing these past number of years are helping to create a generation of ill prepared and entitled citizens.  I fear the day when the students of today become the leaders of tomorrow.  I believe that the current education system encourages laziness, and a lack of desire for students to achieve.

The homogenized report cards we see today with the predefined comments that teachers are forced to use are a further example of a system run a muck.  Teachers being forbidden to tell a parent that their child is lazy or fail that that child for not meeting the course requirements is absurd.

Once out of the public school system and into the real world where will all these students go?  There are only so many McDonalds around, where will the reset of our under achieving future citizens go?

To see what is happening with our education system go to Society for Quality Education at http://societyforqualityeducation.org/

Houseboat Rentals

One of my most favorite ways to travel is on a houseboat.  Seeing majestic scenery, traveling with friends enjoying nature, what could be better.  I have had the pleasure of taking a number of houseboat vacations.  One of my clients is S & S Houseboat Rentals located on the upper Mississippi River.  So far I have not been able to make it to Iowa for an adventure on the big muddy like Huck Finn.  One of these days a group of my friends and I will make it there and cruise along the Mississippi River in one of their luxurious houseboats.  Until than I’ll just take short jaunts in my little runabout.  For more information S & S Houseboat Rentals
